Photographs of Czech Village, an historic Cedar Rapids neighborhood, by Cedar Rapids photographer Bob Campagna will show the iconic neighborhood through several decades.

Artist Statement:

As a youth in Cedar Rapids, I often bicycled from my northwest side family home to visit my best friend Dick Crofter who lived on D Street SW. His world was vastly different than my Belmont neighborhood. We would visit such places as Ted’s Pharmacy, Kosek’s, and Sykora’s Bakery. We played basketball on the Hayes Elementary playground. We attended community theatre in a theatre on Third Street SE.

This exhibit is my Thank You to the many people we encountered and who allowed me to photograph both their place as well as themselves. Through this exhibit I pay honor to the good people and beautiful setting of Czech Village and New Bohemia.
