In June 2008, Cedar Rapids was inundated by floodwaters.
Two Czech neighborhoods, Czech Village and New Bohemia, and the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library were severely impacted.

The NCSML’s Project, My Flood Story is conducting research and collecting input for an upcoming exhibition about the history of Czechs in Cedar Rapids culminating with the 2008 flood.  Your memories are valuable to this endeavor.  If you are a resident, business owner, or visitor to the NCSML, we want to hear from you.

What are your memories of Czech Village, New Bohemia, and/or the NCSML?

What is YOUR flood story?

Selected submissions will be posted on the NCSML web site.  All submissions will be considered for inclusion in an upcoming exhibition and will become part of the NCSML’s library archival collection.
