Throughout Czechoslovakia’s turbulent history, many Czechs and Slovaks have immigrated to the United States. Many were well-known in the areas of science, politics, sports, and the arts and entertainment before coming to the US and many made great achievements after arriving. This exhibit highlights some of these Czechs and Slovaks, and their descendants. It is a Who’s Who of Czech- and Slovak-Americans, and some of them may be a surprise.
