John Dopyera was a Slovak-American musician and inventor. In the 1920s, he created a resonator guitar that revolutionized live band music. The guitar was dubbed the Dobro, and quickly became a necessity for country and blue grass musicians. Using images and graphics, Vladimír Grežo authored this exhibit featuring Dopyera’s early life in Slovakia, his life in the United States, and the extraordinary events that led to his invention of one of the most important stringed instruments of the 20th century.
