Major Function and Purpose

The Stewardship Coordinator is a member of the Advancement Team and supports the overall mission and vision of the organization. The primary areas of focus for this position are gift processing, donor database and records management, membership management and services, and general development and fundraising support.

Essential Job Functions

Database Management and Gift Processing
• Manage and organize all aspects of donor records and information
• Oversee the receipt, accounting, reporting, and acknowledgement of gifts and pledges
• Create and send gift acknowledgements
• Generate detailed reports and manage multiple mailing lists
• Assist leadership with reconciliation of contribution income

Membership Management and Services
• Manage current member stewardship and renewal cycle
• Review, update, and maintain member benefit package
• Conduct lapsed member efforts
• Organize new member campaigns and retention program
• Assist with creation of corporate membership campaign
• Meet or exceed income goals and membership goals

Development and Fundraising (in cooperation with Development Team)
• Coordinate all memorials, including notification, communication, and implementation
• Monitor program and event attendance, and help identify connections between attendance and prospective contributions to the NCSML
• Provide support for member recognition and other donor activities and communications
• Assist with community outreach, including providing members, donors, and prospects with information regarding NCSML events, programs, and exhibits
• Provide administrative support to Development Team as needed

General Duties
• Assist Chief Advancement Officer as needed
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Provide campaign/event/program support
• Answer phones, open/distribute mail, great visitors, as needed
• Support for some evening and weekend events is required

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy is highly important. Strong ability to learn, understand, and utilize a variety of software programs and databases is a must
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, analyze systems and data, and make suggestions for improvement
• Ability to self-motivate and lead projects
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Capability to manage multiple projects, as well as daily tasks
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Support and understanding of the mission and vision of the NCSML

About the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library

For more than 40 years, the NCSML has collected preserved and interpreted the stories of Czechs and Slovaks. In the beginning, our audience was relatively small, mostly local and composed primarily of visitors with Czech or Slovak heritage. Now a national museum with international standing, our audience has become much more diverse.
