Gail Naughton, President/CEO of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, and her husband, Dennis Naughton invite you to join them on an exclusive wine tour of Slovakia, Moravia, and Bohemia!
This group tour will begin in Bratislava, wind through Moravia, and end in Prague. You will enjoy the New Wine Festival in charming Pezinok, Slovakia and the grape harvest festival in the center of Prague at the famous Prague Castle. The tour also includes many special “insider access” events that only the NCSML can offer.
Tour: Thursday, September 21 – Sunday, October 1, 2017
Cost: $2,625 per person, double occupancy; $3,285 per person, single occupancy
Tour fee includes: 10 nights at 4* & 5* hotels with breakfast, most other meals, group ground transportation, entrance fees for group events, tour guides and all local fees and taxes. Included meals are shown as B/L/D = Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner in the itinerary. Not included: flights, drinks other than part of the program, meals not indicated, travel insurance, transfer from the Vienna airport to and from the hotel in Bratislava (but complete directions will be provided). Itinerary subject to change.

Thursday, Sept. 21
Check in at the Loft Hotel in Bratislava (3 nights). Gather and meet your tour mates and review the itinerary at a festive welcome dinner with Slovak music and food. (D)
Friday, Sept. 22
Morning tour of Bratislava. Wine tasting at the famous Národný Salón Vín (National Wine Salon). Free time and lunch on your own. Dinner at the hotel known for its wine bar and craft brewery. (B/D)
Saturday, Sept. 23
Day trip with tour of Červený Kameň Castle on the way to the New Wine Festival in the medieval town of Pezinok. Lunch and dinner on your own to sample the many authentic Slovak food vendors. (B)
Sunday, Sept. 24
Leave for Moravia with a stop to tour the magnificent Lednice Palace and Valtice with light lunch. Dinner in a classic Moravian wine cellar with tasting and music. Arrive in spa town Luhačovice for our stay in the Chateau Hotel Augustian (3 nights). (B/L/D)
Monday, Sept. 25
Day trip to visit the Slavkov Austerlitz battlefield to retrace Napoleon’s victory in 1805. Special guided tour of the Joža Uprka museum in Uherské Hradiště. Then take time to relax in the pool, sauna and whirlpool before dinner at the hotel. (B/L/D)
Tuesday, Sept. 26
Day trip to Zlín, famous home of Baťa Shoes and functionalist architecture. Tour the shoe museum and office building where Tomáš Baťa ran his company from his office on an elevator. Tour and dinner in the charming city of Olomouc. (B/L/D)
Wednesday, Sept. 27
Leave for Prague with a stop in Ždár nad Sázavou at the AGS Svoboda glass factory to watch the craftsmen and shop in the factory store, and at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Pilgrimage Church of St John of Nepomuk. Dinner at a restaurant in Prague. (B/L/D) Esplanade Hotel (4 nights).
Thursday, Sept. 28
Morning tour of Prague followed by the Wine Festival on the grounds of Prague Castle. Rest of the day on your own to explore and shop. Lunch and dinner on your own at the festival or in the City. (B)
Friday, Sept. 29
Special private tour of the Čzernín Palace with friends from the Foreign Ministry and tour and lunch at the Lobkowicz Palace on the Prague Castle grounds. Dinner on your own. (B/L)
Saturday, Sept. 30
Day trip to Melník Castle on the hill above the junction of the Vltava and Labe rivers. Wine tasting at the Johann W. Winery and stop in Litoměřice historic royal town. Farewell Gala Dinner in Prague. (B/L/D)
Sunday, Oct. 1
We say farewell to Prague. Individuals who want to stay longer may make their own arrangements with the hotel. (B)
