Second Saturdays in the Heritage Garden: Garden Gnomes & Faeries!
September 10, 2016 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
$12 – $15Join us in the NCSML’s Czech and Slovak Heritage Garden for a family-friendly clay garden gnomes, faeries, and flowers workshop with the Ceramics Center’s Mobile Clay Lab! The Czechoslovak tradition of telling fairy tales is centuries old. Keep this tradition by creating your own magical garden creatures!
The Ceramics Center’s Artists in Residence will provide the materials and techniques for participants to make a clay skřítek (gnome), víla (faerie), or květ (flower) and paint it with colorful under-glazes. The finished pieces will then be taken to The Ceramics Center, fired, glazed with a shiny clear coat to brighten colors, and then be returned to the museum where you can pick them up! (Glazing and firing processes take up to two weeks.)
Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Get your tickets soon – seating is limited!
$12 for NCSML or The Ceramics Center members
$15 for the general public
We are unable to offer refunds for event tickets at the NCSML. Thank you for your understanding.
