A simple business card for Kislinger and Korvas, a grocery store at 1336 First Avenue in New York, is an heirloom and part of my family’s immigration story from Czechoslovakia. This treasured business card, on display in the “Faces of Freedom” exhibit at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, represents my family’s hard work and dedication to be successful in a new country while maintaining a strong love for their Czech heritage. Your family may share similar stories of immigrants looking for a new home while bringing with them rich cultures and traditions.
Double Your Impact During the Korvas Family Matching Challenge
That story — my family story — and hundreds of other like it are being told and preserved at NCSML. I invite you to join me and my wife Cathy as together we continue to preserve the legacy of the Czech and Slovak people and tell these impactful immigrant stories. Our rich heritage is filled with stories of tradition, dedication, and hard work to preserve our freedom and democracy in a new world.
Cathy and I are matching 100% of every contribution made to NCSML through March 2022, up to $10,000. The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library works hard to reach all ages with both in-person and virtual programming that shares our rich cultural traditions passed down from generation to generation. This includes culinary courses through the National Czech & Slovak Cooking School, art workshops, language courses, and most important to me, ongoing educational programs for our youth. In 2022, we are especially excited to support in part the Music and Lecture Series which will bring talent from around the world.
Your gift will ensure that together we support the museum and library as they continue to welcome Czech and Slovak talent in 2022 and beyond. Please join us as we strive to continue to promote and expand NCSML’s mission during the Korvas Family Matching Challenge. This is an opportunity to double your dollars and double the impact you leave at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.
Thank you!
Tony and Cathy Korvas
