The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library and Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre will host a lunchtime discussion, Cultural Imprints Across Borders, in the WFLA/ZCBJ Heritage Hall at the Museum. Panelists Danielle Tarnowski, a Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre Board member who was born and raised in Gdansk, Poland; Dr. Cecilia Rokusek, president and CEO of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library; and Yulia Lysenko, a Ukrainian soprano who recently emigrated to the United States, will examine the shifting borders between Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia, and the impact that change has had on art and culture in each country, and Eastern Europe overall. The program will open with a moderator-led question and answer period, followed by audience participation. The discussion is free and open to the public.
