History on Tap: Reinventing the Iowa Field

July 14, 2021 @ 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Grab a pint of beer and join us for History on Tap: Reinventing the Iowa Field. Emmaly Renshaw, Farm Manager at Feed Iowa First, will lead this program on the fascinating story of Iowa farming and how that connects to alleviating food insecurity in Linn County today.

Emmaly grew up in the rolling hills of rural northeast Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture with an emphasis in Midwest Ecology. Both of these experiences laid the groundwork for her love of gardening/farming, community health, and local food systems.

Emmaly currently lives in Cedar Rapids with her spouse and four kids ranging from high school to kindergarten age. In her few moments of free time, she enjoys biking, gardening, backpacking, hitting the occasional Orchestra Iowa performance, and this year…. planting trees.

Join us for our second History on Tap of 2021 at Thew Brewing Company! Must be 21+ to buy alcoholic beverages.

Cost: Free. Please RSVP – seating is limited.

Location: Thew Brewing Company, 301 2nd Ave SW, Cedar RapidsIA 52404
