The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library will hold its first-ever online silent art auction, Art Connects US. The auction will open to the public at 11 a.m. CDT on Saturday, May 30, and run until 9 a.m. CDT on Friday, June 12.
Art connects cultures, people, and communities across the globe. The Art Connects US silent auction will support the livelihood of artists across the globe and help the NCSML continue our work of connecting people to the Czech and Slovak culture. Works available during the auction are from local, national, and international artists, including Luka Brase of Slovakia, Dr. Nancy Wilkinson of Missouri, and Matthew Kluber, John Schwartzkopf and Cheryl Smallwood-Roberts of Cedar Rapids.
Various artistic mediums will be represented, including fine arts, pottery, and woodworking, with over 20 items available for bidding. Winning bidders will be contacted after the auction. Each artist will receive a portion of the proceeds, with remaining funds benefitting the NCSML.
The auction site is located at www.32auctions.com/ArtConnectsUS.
