Czech Jazz Legend and Rising Star to Collaborate

Czech Jazz Legend Emil Viklický returns to the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library April 16 at 7:30 p.m. with rising star Jan Smigmator, whose 2023 Carnegie Hall debut captured the attention of jazz enthusiasts around the world.

Viklický, a seasoned jazz pianist and graduate of Berklee College of Music, has collaborated with jazz icons such as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Smigmator brings a fresh, dynamic vocal style that has captivated jazz enthusiasts worldwide.

This exciting collaboration will showcase a mix of timeless classics from the Great American Songbook, blending the sophisticated artistry of Viklický with Smigmator’s expressive vocals. Together, they will highlight the beauty of jazz, seamlessly merging traditional and contemporary elements in a performance that reflects the enduring power of this beloved genre.

Tickets are available for $25 for NCSML members and $30 for non-members. Refreshments will be available, and doors open at 7 p.m.
