Heritage Garden Program: Preserving Family Recipes
June 11, 2016 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
FreeDon’t let your delicious family recipes disappear! Join us in the NCSML’s Skala Bartizal Library to learn a little about paper preservation from Kassie McLaughlin, Project Librarian and Archivist. Kassie will show guests how to safely store and conserve family recipe note cards. Peek into the archives and discover fabulous favorite recipes loved by Cedar Rapids Czechs and Slovaks, and even tempt your taste buds with a sample of a traditional Czech and Slovak dish!
Kassie McLaughlin has been working to process and digitize materials in the Skala Bartizal Library’s collection relating to Czechs and Slovaks in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In her journey through these fascinating items, she has found many food-related pieces that are too wonderful not to share. Kassie holds an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa.
Seating may be limited – RSVP today!
