Vladislav Bláha and Tanja Drobysh Performance

Internationally renowned Czech guitarist, Vladislav Bláha, along with Tanja Drobysh, return to NCSML to perform an entertaining evening of classical, Latin-American, jazz, and folk pieces on guitar, mandolin, and domra.

NCSML will also be a collection point for a food and supply drive during Hody 2022 to support the mission of Catherine McAuley Center.

Vladislav Bláha
Vladislav Bláha has performed in some of the most prestigious halls in over 50 countries, including being the first guitarist from the Czech Republic to play in Carnegie Hall. He has won four international guitar competitions and has recorded seven solo CD’s and another six recordings with other artists. Vladislav is also honored to have 28 composers from 16 countries to have dedicated works to him.

Vladislav studied at the Brno Conservatoire, the F. Liszt College of Music in Weimar, Germany, and doctoral studies at the Academy of Music in Bratislava, Slovakia. He is a currently a Professor of guitar at Janáček Academy of Music in Brno and at the Conservatoire of Brno. He serves as the president of Czech Classical Guitar Society and is also a chairman of the International Guitar Festival and Courses of Brno.

He frequently gives masterclasses at music colleges and performs at festivals all over the world.

Tanja Drobysh
A distinctive player on the guitar, the folk Belarusian tool, domra, mandolin, as well as a singer, Tanja was born in Prague, Czech Republic. She lived most of her life in Belarus, where she studied to play the guitar and domra at the Minsk Central Music School Mikhail Glinka and the Belarusian National Academy of Music in Minsk. Her genre range is focused primarily on the area of classical music, but also gives attention to folklore. Tanja has led several folk groups, worked as a pedagogue at music schools, and has participated in numerous music festivals. So far she has performed at concerts in Belarus, Poland, Spain, Austria, USA, and in the Czech Republic.
