Classic & Modern Czech & Slovak Cuisine XV – 1st Class

Our latest live online Zoom cooking series comprises of 5 classes. Our Fall Cooking Series will take you on a delightful journey through Czech and Slovak cuisine. We’ll start with the comforting Brussels Sprouts Soup, then explore the savory depths of Szegedin Goulash. You’ll master the art of flaky, layered pastries with traditional and vegetarian versions of pagáče, and discover the versatility of potato flatbread, lokše, in both sweet and savory preparations. Finally, we’ll wrap up our culinary adventure with the comforting warmth of žemlovka, a unique bread pudding, while learning to make our own sweet quark cheese. This series will be a celebration of flavors, traditions, and the joy of cooking together!

Please note that you can attend any class in this series without attending its predecessor.

FIRST CLASS: Brussels Sprouts Soup with Bacon

We’re kicking off our autumn-inspired cooking classes with the ultimate comfort food: Brussels Sprouts Soup with Bacon. This rich and flavorful soup is perfect for chilly evenings, promising a bowlful of warmth and satisfaction. Vegetarians don’t worry! Simply swap the bacon for your favorite veggies and use vegetable stock instead of chicken broth for an equally delicious version. So, grab your aprons, sharpen your knives, and get ready to dive into this first class of our fall culinary adventure!

NOTE: Suitable for vegetarians if vegetable stock is used (bacon optional).

COST: $25/members or $30/non-members, RSVP required.
