THIRD CLASS: “Pagáče” – Slovak Biscuits (with or without cracklings)
October 12, 2024, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. CST
In our third class of this Fall Cooking Series, we’re exploring the flaky, savory world of Slovak pagáče. These aren’t your ordinary biscuits—they’re made with yeasty dough and a unique folding technique that results in layers of deliciousness. We’ll be crafting two versions: the traditional pagáče with crispy pork cracklings, and a vegetarian option with cheese. But the fun doesn’t stop there! We’ll also be making our own cracklings from scratch and whipping up a couple jars of homemade lard for your next culinary adventure. Get ready to discover the magic of Slovak baking.
NOTE: Suitable for vegetarians. We are preparing two kinds of pagáče. The cheese pagáče are vegetarian.
