COVID, the University, and the Community

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is pleased to host a webinar presented by the president of Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, Dr. Martin Procházka, a world-renowned expert on issues related to COVID in the community. His current area of focused research is COVID’s impact in universities. As an OB/GYN specialist, he has also collaborated with European Union physicians on “COVID During Pregnancy.” Dr. Procházka will be in Cedar Rapids to present the webinar entitled, “Covid, the University, and the Community.”

Dr. Martin Procházka is a native of Moravia. Since 1994, he has served as a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Palacký University Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. His focus of research has been in high-risk pregnancies, thrombolytic conditions, prenatal care, infertility, and endometriosis. He has studied and worked in Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands. He has authored over 150 works with over 500 citations. He is a member of the Czech Gynecological and Obstetrical Society, and a member of the Czech Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

Palacký University has over 22,000 students with eight colleges and 4,000 employees. It is the oldest Moravian University in the Czech Republic.
