Free First Saturday for Students

July 3, 2021 @ 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

We live in a vibrant state for food with over 88,000 farms that produce more eggs, corn, and soybeans than any other state. Along with a strengthened commitment to grow food for the local area, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library invites students of all ages to join us on the first Saturday in July for activities about farming, nutrition, and composting. Come check out our new gardening space, growing orchard, and early work establishing a system for compost.

In coordination with the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy, kids, teens, and adults will be able to harness energy from the sun to create “photographs” of collages made from various recycled objects. We will also have free seed balls and composting comics available to take home, so we can all help improve our environment. Students in preschool up to college get free admission.

Cost: Free with student ID.

Presented by: UFG Insurance.
