“Haunted Prague” Author Talk with Michele Patrick

Michele Patrick, author of “Haunted Prague: Stories of Spirits, Sorcerers, and the Supernatural,” offers a presentation that will take you on a journey through one of Europe’s most hauntingly beautiful—and just plain haunted—destinations, the golden city of Prague. In a captivating slide show, she acquaints, or reacquaints, audiences with the beauty of this magical and mysterious place, where a ghost or spirit seems to lurk around every corner. Michele then discusses Prague’s haunted history; why Prague is probably the most haunted city in the world; and the extraordinary power of legend. Finally, she talks about what she hopes her book will accomplish and then offers an entertaining, Halloween appropriate, reading from “Haunted Prague”.

Michele is a professional writer of Slovak descent and has served as speechwriter for the President’s Cabinet and the United States Senate, among others. She is also a Fulbright Scholar in Eastern European economics and a former National Champion in collegiate public speaking. Her presentation on “Haunted Prague” is designed to capture and convey Prague’s images and imagination, provide some fascinating stories from Czech history, and delight anyone who enjoys a spooky tale about things that go bump in the night!

A signing of the book will be held after the talk from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m.
