Kristýna Kůstková recital with pianist Ahmad Hedar

Czech soprano Kristýna Kůstková and Czech pianist Ahmad Hedar will perform a free recital consisting of the most beautiful songs and arias by Antonín Dvořák, Jaroslav Křička, Leoš Janáček, Manuel de Falla, Gaetano Donizetti, Léo Delibes, and other world recognized composers.

Kristýna Kůstková is a Czech soprano currently finishing her Master’s degree in Voice at Mannes School of Music in NY where she holds several prestigious grants and scholarships. Since she was seven years old, she performed on the stages of Prague National Theatre and was a member and soloist of Children’s Opera Prague. Kristýna is a laureate: winner of several voice competitions as well as recipient of the Gold Crystal Heart Award for her participation in cultural programs of the Czech Center NY. She also often collaborates with the experimental opera ensemble Run OpeRun, and her future engagements include Prague National Theatre and Antonin Dvořák Theatre in Ostrava.

Ahmad Hedar is a leading Czech pianist, vocal coach, and singer. He studied at the Prague HAMU. His musicality has made him a sought-after accompanist to many prominent singers. Through Run OpeRun, an organization he works closely with to make opera accessible to new audiences, Hedar has led the musical production of the Magic Flute (2016), Marriage of Figaro (2017), Rusalka (2020), and La Traviata (2021), all on the site of the former Stalin monument in Prague. In 2019, Hedar earned a fellowship at the prestigious Bayreuth festival. In 2021, Ahmad worked as a vocal coach and assistant conductor in Bergen for Rusalka, and in 2022 he will be coaching Jenůfa by Janáček in Toulouse. He has been teaching at the Jan Deyl Conservatory in Prague.
