Root Beer Fest

Bring the whole family for a day of activities, games, root beer tasting, live music and free admission to all of the NCSML’s galleries. It’s the Year of Beer at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, but today we’re celebrating a beverage everyone can enjoy – root beer!

Schedule
9:30am – 4:00pm: FREE ADMISSION to the museum’s galleries and films
9:30am – 4:00pm: Free root beer and soda tastings, featuring Millstream Brewing Company, Iowa Brewing Company, Lion Bridge Brewing Company, and Great American Popcorn Company
9:30am – 4:00pm: Root-beer themed family games and crafts available
9:30am – 4:00pm: University of Iowa Mobile Museum will be parked right outside the NCSML (click here for current exhibits!)
11:00am – 11:30am: Cedar Rapids Suzuki Academy performance (live music)
12:00pm – 12:45pm: Cowboy Randy Erwin, featuring cowboy songs and rope tricks! (live music/family entertainment)
1:00pm – 1:30pm: Cedar Rapids Suzuki Academy performance (live music)
2:00pm – 2:45pm: Pint Size Polkas, an interactive family polka party! (live music)
3:00pm – 4:00pm: Hanson Family Jugglers

Root beer cupcakes from The Wright Touch Bake Shoppe, root beer floats from Great American Popcorn Company, and food from Wilson Avenue Hy-Vee will be available throughout the day. Root beer vendors will also have beverages available to purchase.
