“SOLD OUT” – Second Saturdays in the Heritage Garden: Beautiful Backyard Bird Feeders

Seats for this program are now full.
Check out our event calendar for more fun family programs this fall!

Birdhouses

Come get creative with the NCSML and Indian Creek Nature Center! Find out how to attract beautiful birds to your backyard through the winter! In this hour long program, kids will learn how to make a fabulous and unique bird feeder out of a milk carton. We’ll use both natural materials and recycled materials, along with colorful paint to make them pop. All materials will be supplied, and families will be sent home with a small bag of birdseed to get the feeder started. Kids of all ages are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The program will be held in the museum’s Alliant Energy Classroom instead of the Heritage Garden.

Sponsors for the Czech and Slovak Heritage Garden and related programming include:
Alliant Energy, Rockwell Collins, Lu & Katherine Svoboda, Carey & Terry Downs Gibson, Carol Vavra, Seed Savers Exchange, and Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area. Family programs for 2016 are sponsored by Gary & Cathy Rozek. The Kids’ Pumpkin Painting Party is also sponsored by Evergreen Packaging Equipment.
