Stefanik Star Stroll

Cost: Free, RSVP is encouraged.

*Due to weather, we will be hosting this program inside tonight. We will still be welcoming a guest speaker from the UI Astronomy department!

Over 100 years ago, Milan Štefánik made an intense climb up Mount Blanc to study the orbit of the moon. Not only was Štefánik an astronomer, but he also was a politician who played a vital role in the formation of Czechoslovakia in 1918. We will talk about Štefánik and hear from a University of Iowa astronomer at the Clock Tower in front of the museum, in view of our own “Mountain” – Mt. Trashmore!
