Brew & View: The Lady in Number 6

lady-number-6Grab a beer (or soda) and join us for this touching 2014 Academy Award-winning short documentary by Malcolm Clarke.

The Lady in Number 6 is one of the most inspirational and uplifting stories of the year. In this short documentary, Prague-born Jewish pianist and Holocaust survivor Alice Herz-Sommer shares her views on how to live a long and happy life. Alice survived Theresienstadt concentration camp with her talent for music, and lived to be the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor until her death at the age of 110. In the film, she discusses music, laughter and how to remain optimistic – come what may. The film also features beautiful photographs and rare film footage that truly brings Alice’s extraordinary story to life.

“Kids all over the world grow up on superheroes, what we, their parents, must remind them, is documentaries tell stories about ‘real superheroes.’ Superheroes are based on great people, real people, like Alice Herz-Sommer.” – Nicholas Reed, Producer
