Free First Saturdays for Students: Animal Assistants

Cost: Free for students, regular admission for non-students.

There have been animals helping soldiers in wars and battles for centuries, even today. Critters had a variety of tasks all the way from carrying messages across the battlefields to being a troop mascot. Dogs and horses are usually what come to mind, but there were more animals including, but not limited to, elephants, bears, and even slugs! Today we will be learning more about the various jobs animals had during World War I and designing troop mascots!

Sponsored by United Fire Group. Contributing sponsors: Katherine & Ludvik Svoboda
