Join us for our final History on Tap of 2021 at Film Scene in Iowa City on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m.! In partnership with Film Scene, Big Grove, and Reunion breweries we’ll be showing the Czechoslovakian era surrealist comedy-drama Daisies (runtime 74 minutes) with a special pre-show beer tasting included with the ticket cost.
One of the most anarchic films of all time, Vera Chytilová’s absurdist farce follows the misadventures of two brash young women. Believing the world to be “spoiled,” they embark on a series of pranks in which nothing—food, clothes, men, war—is taken seriously. An aesthetically and politically adventurous film that’s widely considered one of the great works of feminist cinema.
Be sure to arrive at Film Scene at 6:30 p.m. for the 30 minute beer sampling, and stick around for the showing of Daises starting at 7 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: in accordance with Film Scene’s policies; this event will be full capacity with enhanced wellness protocols in place requiring either a 72-hour (or less) negative COVID-19 test or documentation of a vaccine card in lieu of a negative COVID-19 test for each individual 12 or older attending.
