Immigrant Foodways: Sarmale

Sarmale, stuffed grape leaves or sour cabbage leaves is a staple food from Romania, traditionally served during Christmas, Easter, weddings, and other special occasions. Known as holubky or halupki in the Czech or Slovak Republics, you may also find a very similar dish, named Dolmades, at Greek restaurants. Like all recipes, there are countless variations, from region to region and even family to family. Coach Alina Warner will teach you how to make her recipe of this traditional dish along with its typical side of mamaliga (polenta) from the comfort of your home.

Cost per class: $20 for NCSML members,
$25 for non-members
Registration required, space is limited to 30 participants.

Sponsored by GreatAmerica Financial Services
