Second Saturdays in the Heritage Garden: Food Fear Factor

basilpotatoes
Organic basil and potato plants in the NCSML’s Czech and Slovak Heritage Garden.

You’ve seen the Heritage Garden – and maybe even explored it – but have you eaten it? Join us for a fun-filled and delicious class, as we investigate the nutrition contained in garden-fresh produce and make healthy snacks with Hy-Vee Drugstore registered dietitian Martha McClurg. You know you won’t want to miss our family food challenge! This is your child’s chance to try a variety of familiar, and some less familiar, vegetables.

Martha McClurgMartha McClurg is a registered and licensed dietitian, available to help equip you with the tools you need to live a healthy, happy lifestyle. She is passionate about enabling individuals of all ages achieve their optimal health status, which, when paired with her love of working in communities, makes a career at Hy-Vee a perfect fit. Martha graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with her bachelor’s degree, the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for her dietetic internship, and the University of Iowa College of Public Health with her master’s degree. When she not working or volunteering, Martha enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, preparing new culinary creations and reading.
